Related Service Data Notice
(For EU Data Act[1] Purposes)

This Related Service Data Notice ("Notice") is issued by Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. ("Hikvision"), as the provider of Related Service with the Connected Product, in order to provide users of Related Service ("you") with the legally required information about the Product Data to be obtained and the Related Service Data to be generated (together the "Data").

For purposes of this Notice, the Connected Product refers to those products you connect to your Hik-Connect account, and the Related Service refers to the Hik-Connect services that you utilize to manage and use your Connected Products.

The data holder is Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., with its registered office at No.555 Qianmo Road, Binjiang District, Hangzhou 310051. Hik-Connect Terms of Services is the contract between you and Hikvision that governs the provision of the Related Services. Please refer to it for the duration and termination of the contract.

The Notice may be modified from time to time, and any updated versions will be posted on this webpage. The Notice covers the following:

1.        Definitions;

2.        Product Data nature, estimated volume, and collection frequency;

3.        Related Service Data nature and estimated volume;

4.        Your Rights and Retention of the Data;

5.        Whether and Why Hikvision expects to use the Data;

6.        Identity of the trade secret holder;

7.        How to contact us and lodge a complaint.

1.     Definitions

Connected Product means an item that obtains, generates or collects data concerning its use or environment and that is able to communicate Product Data via an electronic communications service, physical connection or on-device access, and whose primary function is not the storing, processing or transmission of data on behalf of any party other than the user.

Product Data means data generated by the use of a Connected Product that the manufacturer designed to be retrievable, via an electronic communications service, physical connection or on-device access, by a user, data holder or a third party, including, where relevant, the manufacturer.

Related Service means a digital service, other than an electronic communications service, including software, which is connected with the product at the time of the purchase, rent or lease in such a way that its absence would prevent the Connected Product from performing one or more of its functions, or which is subsequently connected to the product by the manufacturer or a third party to add to, update or adapt the functions of the Connected Product.

Related Service Data means data representing the digitization of user actions or of events related to the Connected Product, recorded intentionally by the user or generated as a by-product of the user's action during the provision of a Related Service by the provider.

2.     Product Data nature, format, and estimated volume

Hikvision is expected to obtain the Product Data through Related Service as specified below:

Video

It may vary based on how the device parameters are configured.

For example, if the fixed bit rate for video streaming is 2 Mbps, then the volume is 15 MB per minute.

Continuously as long as the Connected Product is connected.

Applicable to Connected Products with video recording function.

Hikvision only transmit the video streaming instead of storage. Only when cloud storage is purchased and activated by you, or alert is trigged, Hikvision will store the video data.

It may vary based on how the device parameters are configured.

For example, A single 1280*720 resolution image typically has a file size of approximately 100 KB.

Continuously as long as the Connected Product is connected.

Applicable to Connected Products with photo-capturing function.

Log data stored in the Connected Product

Depend on the Connected Product.

Initiated by you.

The Related Services enable users to access the log data remotely.

Device configuration parameters

Depend on the Connected Product.

Initiated by you.

The Related Services enable users to access the parameters remotely.

3.     Related Service Data nature and estimated volume

The Related Service connected with the Connected Products will generate the Related Service Data as specified below:

Approximately 2MB per log.

The log data refers to the log of user operations through the Related Services.

Device event

Approximately 100B-2KB per event.

The events means those reflect device status. The device status may differ per the device, which may include hard disk temperature, defense mode status, connection channel usage status, SD card capacity status, upgrade status, offline status through heart beat function, etc.

4.     Your Rights and Retention of the Data

Under the Data Act, you have the right to access your data within specified limits. To exercise this right, please refer to the Hik-Connect Privacy Policy or contact Hikvision using the details provided in this Notice. You may also reach out to request or terminate data sharing. Upon receipt of your request, we will respond in accordance with legal requirements.

The Data will be stored in the data centers of Related Service, and retained in accordance with Hik-Connect Privacy Policy.

5.     Whether and Why Hikvision expects to use the Data

Hikvision use the Data only for the purpose listed in Hik-Connect Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

6.     Identity of the trade secret holder

Your use of Hik-Connect is subject to the Terms of Service. Hikvision retains the ownership of any trade secrets contained in the data accessible from Connected Products or generated through the provision of the Related Services. You are solely responsible for managing any trade secrets within your own data.

7.     How to contact us and lodge a complaint

If you have questions about the Notice, you can contact Hikvision at data_protection@hikvision.com. We will respond to your inquiry as soon as reasonably possible. Please provide: (i) your name (or nickname), your country/region of residence and your preferred method of communication; and (ii) the details of your request or comment.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent authority that is responsible for the application and enforcement of the Data Act in your country/region.
